Live Visual / Light

In this course, students will gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in setting up stage lighting for theatre or live performances. They will be introduced to the different types of lighting used on stage, as well as learn about the basics of electricity and safety precautions. The course will emphasise the importance of lighting for stage performances and how it can impact both the artistic and technical aspects of a show.

Throughout the course, students will cover a range of topics, including the basics of electricity, electrical safety, connecting devices, They will learn about the different types of lights and their uses, as well as fog and haze machines. Additionally, the course will cover rigging safety and different methods for rigging lights and truss, DMX programming, moving lights, and scene settings.

Students will gain practical skills in addressing devices, connecting to light controllers, and connecting multiple devices. They will learn how to program positions, colour and gobos with moving lights. They will also learn how to combine groups, chasers, colours, and positions of lights to form different scenes. By the end of the course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of stage lighting and be equipped with the skills necessary to setup lighting for theatre or live performances.
